Help Support Rebels Rugby Player Bruce Barnier play rugby in Australia and New Zealand!

We are thrilled to share that after a standout U16 semi-finals game against Back Bay and then winning the Division 2 Championship game, the Rebels co-captain Bruce Barnier was recommended by the Back Bay Coach and subsequently selected to represent Rebels Rugby and the Inland Empire alongside some of the best rugby players in California.

The Legion Academy currently competes with an overseas team for U14s, U16s, and U18s, then a senior development team for those returning from college making gains to crack the squad on the Major League Rugby team and the US Eagles.

Here is our challenge… the clock is ticking quickly. This international rugby tour is happening June 26 through July 7, 2025. Bruce’s family was not expecting this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and needs help to make it a reality. The total cost for each player is approximately $4,000, which will cover travel, accommodations, and other expenses for the tour. This doesn’t count the costs for his parent chaperone and expedited passport fees.

Many of you know Bruce and the entire Barnier family as they have been part of the Rebels for many years now. Bruce has been a standout player for years with big sister Annabelle playing alongside him during their younger seasons. Annabelle even coached the U8’s for a season and played on the amazing high school girls' team this season. Mama Barnier has been a volunteer and board member, devoting time to all ages of the club over the years, often found feeding the players at the end of the games and running the club's various fundraisers. And you all know his dad with the loudest cheers in the stands and the iconic Bruuuuuuuuce cheers we all know and love!

The Rebels are reaching out to our community to help cover these costs to ensure that Bruce can represent our club and the Inland Empire and bring his experience back to Rebels Rugby.
