Support Rebekah’s Hysterectomy Recovery

Donation protected
My name is Sam and I’m making this to help my friend Rebekah, who’s finally receiving the surgery that she needs.

“Hi! My name is Rebekah, I’m 27 years old, and I have both endometriosis and adenomyosis.

For the last 10 years, I have been chronically anemic, caused by heavy and irregular bleeding. I have needed blood transfusions, iron infusions, and have been on multiple medications/birth controls to try and force my body to regulate. I’ve also had 2 D&C surgeries. None of these have been able to control my bleeding, and this has hugely affected every aspect of my life.

After countless doctors' appointments, ER trips, talks with insurance, and never giving up… I have finally been approved for a total hysterectomy and salpingectomy! While this will not “cure” my endometriosis, it will fix my adenomyosis and solve the largest problem I have, which is blood loss. This is my best chance at greatly improving my quality of life.

While I’m very excited to have this addressed, it is a major surgery that will force me to be down for a while. Per my doctor, I’ll be off work for around 6 weeks to recover. My husband will also need to take some time off to help me until I’m back on my feet. Having started a new job only a couple of months ago, I have no vacation time or sick leave to use, and don’t qualify for FMLA.

With it being the beginning of the year, my insurance deductible/out-of-pocket will have to be paid in full (I’m also still struggling to pay my many medical bills from last year). This combined with the financial strain of being out of work for such an extended period is overwhelming, and that’s why I’m reaching out for help. This is honestly my greatest time of need.

My surgery is scheduled for March 7th at LMHS. My out-of-pocket insurance cost for the year is $3,200.
Any amount raised will go towards:
• The insurance deductible/out-of-pocket for my surgery
• Helping overcome hours of work missed
• Paying medical bills related to my endometriosis/anemia
• Living expenses while I’m recovering

I truly appreciate any support, whether it’s a financial contribution or sharing this campaign with others. Every little bit helps and brings me one step closer to being able to take the time I need to heal properly. Your kindness and generosity mean a lot to me ☺️
