Support Rebeka After Christopher's Loss

Hello dear friends, family, and community,

My name is Nikki Contini, and I’m Rebeka’s sister.

It is with deep sadness that I share the unexpected passing of Christopher Bertolo this past Friday, April 4th. Christopher was my sister Rebeka’s beloved partner and my sweet, funny brother-in-law. After years of battling serious health issues, including cancer of the throat, he passed away suddenly due to complications related to his condition.

For the past five years, Rebeka has been a steadfast, loving caregiver to Christopher—standing by him through every challenge, every procedure, and every unexpected turn. Although his health had been fragile, he was preparing for new surgeries and moving forward. None of us expected his life to be cut short so suddenly.

I’m starting this GoFundMe to support my sister and Christopher’s adult children as they navigate funeral expenses and the many financial burdens that come with this kind of loss. My hope is to help lighten the load so Rebeka has the time and space she needs to grieve and begin finding her footing again.

These past few years have been emotionally and financially exhausting for her, and now, in the midst of her heartbreak, she’s also facing an uncertain future—wondering how she’ll pay her bills, stay in her home, and move forward.
