Support Rebecca's Second Lung Transplant Recovery
Donation protected
This is my wife and best friend, Rebecca. In 2016, she was told that her autoimmune condition, Scleroderma, was causing the tissue in her lungs to harden. In 2018, she received a lung transplant at UCSF. For 4+ years, her new lungs were amazing and life was very normal. In 2023, she got COVID for the first time. COVID caused her lungs to be damaged and decline, and for the next 1.5 years, she was in and out of the hospital, trying once again to be a good candidate for transplant. In February of 2025, Rebecca received her second lung transplant. While the surgery was a success, the road to recovery is very long.
I don't know anyone who has gone through as much as she has. She always tries to have a smile on her face and be the best patient she can be. I am beyond grateful for the amazing people we have met on this very long journey. Every day is precious and the moments are never lost on us.
