Support Rebecca's Research Journey in Japan

Hi, my name is Rebecca Johnson and I am a doctoral candidate at Texas Tech University. I was recently selected into the Suzuki Company of Toga's Summer Camp in Toga, Japan! As one of the few selected to attend this two-and-a-half-week experience, I will be practicing the method and seeing others use the method in performance. The Suzuki Method harnesses energy to stabilize and stop movement in connection with breath.

With limited available funding from my school, I am asking for help in pursuing my research as a performer and as a teacher.

As a movement teacher and practitioner, I firmly believe in practicing challenging methods that build and foster my understanding of theatre. Being accepted into this program allows me to continue my doctoral research of non-Western movement practices. Attending the summer camp program at the Suzuki Company of Toga (SCOT) fuels my dissertation and research in developing a well-rounded global movement curriculum.
