My name is Rebecca. I am a single mom of 3. I adopted my daughter's sister during COVID; her mother passed away. She is 4 and such a wonderful, loving little girl who deserves the world, as any mother would say. I lost my job and have been struggling financially. I was going to receive assistance through Social Services to help pay for her to go to camp. I had until June 30th to get a job and submit that I found one. Well, today I did!! Yay!! But when I called the camp to let them know the update, they advised me that her spot was taken because Social Services advised them that her case was canceled and her spot was taken. I advised that I had until June 30th? They were told June 10th. And the only way she would be able to go to camp is if I pay out of pocket. Even if I fight to get her case reopened, there's no more spots for kids going through Social Services. For her to go, it will be over $3000.00. I am supposed to start my new job this Friday! But now have nowhere for her to go when school ends next week. I am pleading for help! One, so she can enjoy her summer, and two, so I can get back to work. To find somewhere safe for her in three days will be impossible. I really want this job but will not be able to go if I don't ask for help. I have no one I can turn to. Please help!
