Memorial service costs and support for her boys.

Hello everyone. My name is LaShawnda Shavers and I am doing this fundraiser on behalf of my little sister Rebecca. She has been at St. Joeseph’s hospital since May 4, 2025 due to a medical emergency.

First, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the love you’ve shown. Your donations, calls, texts, and prayers have been a huge comfort during this incredibly difficult time. 

 I’m writing to share an update about my sister. She will soon be transferred to Tacoma Hospice, where she will receive comfort care. Her doctors have estimated her life expectancy to be about two weeks after arrival. This is a heartbreaking moment for our family, but we are trusting God and leaning on our faith through it all. As the youngest of our family, Rebecca’s sudden illness has shaken us deeply. She has been unable to work for some time due to her condition. She did not have insurance and we are now facing the emotional and financial burden of planning for her funeral and travel arrangements back to Seattle. In addition, Rebecca is the loving mother of two young sons, ages 15 and 11, who will need continued support in the days and years ahead. Your donations will go directly toward: 

 • Memorial and medical  expenses 

 • Travel costs for my family
