Support Rebecca's Battle with Lung Cancer

My name is Savannah. I am the daughter to Rebecca. My mom was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. Her symptoms started out with just a back ache that continued to get worse. When the pain got so bad that she couldn’t hardly walk my oldest daughter took her to the ER in Lincoln where they live. They did all the normal procedures lab work, Xray, cat scan etc. and they came in and gave her the worst news anyone could get. They found a mass in her left lung. She was immediately admitted for pain control and more testing. Of course she was set up for a pet scan to determine whether it had spread. The next step was a biopsy of the mass and 2 different lymph nodes that lit up on the pet scan. It was supposed to be a pretty easy procedure. An outpatient procedure. As with any surgical procedure there is always risk. Well as her luck would have it during her biopsy they collapsed her lung and had to take her back into surgery to put in a chest tube. This has really taken a financial strain on her as she is also a caregiver to my step dad who has had brain cancer (glioblastoma) for a few years now. She has been unable to work as the pain has been out of control and with her being in and out of the hospital. She meets with the oncologist and pulmonologist this week as they discuss treatment options. I know times are tough and the holidays are upon us but even $1 helps. If you aren’t able to donate monetary I just ask that you keep her in your prayers.
