Final Update: In Loving Memory of Rebecca
It is with profound sadness that I share the passing of my beautiful mom, Rebecca, on Monday, November 3rd. She left this world peacefully, surrounded by love, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Our hearts are broken, but we are comforted knowing she is no longer in pain. Rebecca was a light in our lives, kind, strong, and full of grace. Her love touched everyone who knew her, and her legacy will live on in the many lives she impacted.
To everyone who donated, shared, prayed, and supported us during this journey: thank you. Your generosity gave us the ability to care for her at home, to be present with her in her final days, and to focus on love rather than logistics. We are forever grateful.
As we begin to navigate life without her, we carry her spirit with us. Thank you for walking beside us through this incredibly difficult time.
With love and gratitude,
Jesika
Update: Hospice Care for Rebecca & Urgent Support Needed
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,
I’m writing today with a heavy heart to share that my mom, Rebecca, is now receiving in-home hospice care. Her brain cancer has progressed, and after many difficult conversations with her care team, we’ve come to the decision that this is the most compassionate path forward. She is surrounded by love, and we are doing everything we can to keep her comfortable.
As if this wasn’t enough, our family was dealt another devastating blow last week, my dad, who has been supporting my mom, lost his job and medical coverage. The emotional and financial strain is overwhelming, and we are now facing the reality of trying to care for my mom while navigating the uncertainty of how to cover basic living expenses, medical needs, and end-of-life care.
We are humbly asking for your help.
Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward supporting my parents during this incredibly difficult time. Your generosity will help us keep the lights on, pay for medications, and allow us to focus on what matters most: being present with my mom in her final days.
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page with others. Your support, prayers, and kindness mean more than words can express.
Thank you for standing with us.
With gratitude,
Jesika
Help Rebecca (Slovesko) Ream Fight Brain Cancer Without the Burden of Medical Debt
Hi, my name is Jesika Wilhelm, and I’m reaching out with a heavy but hopeful heart to ask for your support for someone incredibly dear to me—my mom, Rebecca Ream.
Earlier this year, our world was turned upside down when my mom was diagnosed with a very rare brain cancer, High-grade astrocytoma with piloid features (HGAP). The news was devastating. Rebecca is the heart of our family—an endlessly kind, selfless, and strong woman who has always put others before herself. Whether it was watching her granddaughter, Cora, volunteering in our church, or offering a listening ear to anyone in need, she has always been a source of light and love.
Rebecca faced her diagnosis with incredible courage. She underwent surgery in May and is fighting with grace and determination, never once complaining, even on the hardest days. Her strength has been nothing short of inspiring. She faces additional treatments with a long battle ahead.
But as anyone who has faced a serious illness knows, the emotional toll is only part of the battle. The financial burden has been overwhelming. Despite insurance, the out-of-pocket costs for her treatment, medications, follow-up care, and travel to specialists have added up quickly. My mom has always been fiercely independent, but the mounting bills are now more than she can manage alone.
That’s why I’m asking for your help.
We’ve set up this GoFundMe to help cover the medical expenses that continue to pile up. Every dollar raised will go directly toward paying for Rebecca’s treatment and recovery. Your support will not only ease the financial stress but also allow her to focus on what truly matters—healing and spending time with her loved ones.
If you know my mom, you know how much she has given to others. Now it’s our turn to give back to her.
Please consider donating, sharing this campaign, and keeping Rebecca in your thoughts and prayers. No contribution is too small—every bit helps and means the world to us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
With gratitude,
Jesika Wilhelm and the Ream Family
