Support Rebecca's Cancer Treatment and Healing

Donation protected
Dear Friends,

My name is Emily and I am one of many people who have the pleasure of knowing and deeply loving Rebecca Elswit.

Rebecca’s life has been radically altered: She has been diagnosed with cancer- Stage 3 Synovial Sarcoma.

HEALTH DETAILS:

What’s Happened So Far….
Rebecca has experienced nerve pain in her right arm since she was a child. In December, she noticed a lump developing in her arm where she had always felt the nerve pain. In July, the lump was diagnosed as a malignant tumor. In late August, the tumor was diagnosed as Stage 3 Synovial Sarcoma, an extremely rare form of cancer that affects the soft tissue surrounding a joint. Receiving the diagnosis was a shock. After a process that included deep inquiry, research, second and third expert opinions, and witchy guidance, Rebecca decided that she was a…

Yes to chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery.

Yes to acupuncture, herbs, nutrition and lifestyle changes.

Yes to cutting edge therapies and energy work.

Yes to receiving all the love and support.

She has spent the last two months receiving 3 rounds of chemotherapy. It has been rough. Rebecca was flattened and has not worked since the first week. With the incredible amount of generous support from her family and community, she made it through the very taxing experience of chemo with presence and grace. Radiation began the last week of November. It is 5 days a week for 5 weeks.

What’s Next…
  • After radiation is complete, she has a month of recovery to rest deeply and heal.
  • In early February, Rebecca will have surgery to remove the tumor and affected bone, and then reconstruct her arm.
  • After the allopathic treatments complete, she will continue healing using a range of complementary treatments and therapies so she can return to optimum health.

How Rebecca has been approaching this health challenge:

She has mostly been in high spirits, graceful and fierce, wise, present, strong, soft, clear, open, inspirational, vulnerable, and funny (of course), and reports feeling cracked- open, feeling supported and loved by so many. She feels so grateful to be deeply connected to what matters most - to Life, to the Earth, to the people she loves. Rebecca has approached this not only as a healing journey, but as a true initiation into Life itself. She is expanding and growing, giving this journey everything she has.

Rebecca has been blessed with a kind and robust network for things like receiving rides to treatment, nutritious foods, healing and logistical support, and cuddles. And, she will have many unmet financial needs as she continues on her healing journey.

Rebecca is self-employed and has not been able to work since the middle of September. She will not be able to work for the next many months as she undergoes radiation, surgery, and then spends her energy on healing.

How You Can Help:

This is where we, as a community, can make a huge difference by supporting Rebecca financially during her healing journey. Your generous gestures and offerings are tremendously appreciated and deeply felt.

Thank you for supporting our amazing friend. We cherish her. She is the magic-bringer, the one who sees without judgment– effortlessly wise, powerful, caring, playful, intuitive, deep, loving, perceptive, hilarious, generous, and truthful. Her ability to handle the intensity of this experience and remain spirited is humbling to witness.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

With so much love and reverence for the power of community,
