Support Rebecca and Oaklyn After Derrick's Loss

After a courageous four-year battle with stage four metastatic melanoma, Derrick Tate passed away Monday, November 25th. Despite the immense challenges, Derrick faced his diagnosis with unwavering bravery, refusing to give up. Sadly, when the cancer spread to his nervous system, it progressed rapidly.

Throughout this difficult journey, Derrick’s wife, Rebecca, and their 4-year-old daughter, Oaklyn, remained steadfastly by his side, offering love and support through countless rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgeries. While this has been an incredibly painful journey, the time they shared together will always be treasured.

Unfortunately, like many young families, Derrick did not have life insurance. By the time he was diagnosed, Rebecca was unable to add him to her policy, and due to the aggressive nature of his illness, no insurance company would accept him.

Derrick’s family now faces the added burden of covering funeral and burial expenses. Any assistance during this challenging time would mean the world to them as they navigate their grief and honor Derrick’s memory.
