Support Reason's Journey Back Home

Hello,

My name is Reason and I'm going on a journey. I have been based in NYC for the past 7 years and they have been amazing. However, I am moving back to my hometown LA to be with my family. My grandmother has been diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer and has been given 6-8 months to live. She was my grandfather's primary caretaker and due to their conditions, I have decided to return home to help out with the both of them.

On top of this, NYC has been a huge struggle for me lately. I had to drop out of Hunter College this past fall because I have not been able to find a stable job for the past 6 months and I have fallen behind on all of my bills. It is a blessing to be able to help my family during this critical time, but compounded with being underemployed in one of the most expensive cities in the world this has severely worsened my mental and physical health. My first instinct during this crisis was to isolate. I've instead decided to act on my second instinct, which is to listen to a friend and ask for help.

Through all of this, I have seen how the communities that I have become a part of are supportive of me. A few of them have recommended that I make this GoFundMe. Asking for help is hard for me, but it is something I have been trying to practice lately and it has yielded magical results. I am hoping that with this money I can go to LA with a clean slate without debts hanging over my head. I plan to attend LA Trade Tech College in the fall to study Menswear/Tailoring and these funds will allow me to pursue this dream of mine.
