Real Whole, Inc. is a birth center rooted in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward, dedicated to providing safe, affirming, and holistic care for families—especially Black & Brown families, LGBTQIA+ folks, survivors, and caregivers. As the founder and midwife, I’ve spent the last four years supporting moms through birth, postpartum recovery, and life’s unexpected challenges. Now, I’m facing my own: a work injury left me with a benign lump in my chest, and I’ll soon need surgery to maintain my health and continue this work I love. While I recover, I’m committed to improving our space and ensuring families still have access to the care they need.

Our most urgent need is repairing the roof, which was damaged during a negligent solar panel installation. Fixing it will keep our one-bedroom and sofa bed unit open for safe lodging—providing up to 150 nights of shelter for birth support, domestic violence safety, post-op recovery, and caregiver respite. We also need fresh linens for hygiene and dignity, and medical supplies to create postpartum and emergency comfort kits for families arriving in crisis. Your support will help us bridge care while I heal, allowing us to offer at least four moms reduced-rate birth planning, virtual visits, doula coverage, and safe lodging.

Last year, we helped a mom and her newborn who had nowhere else to go after a complicated delivery. With a week of safe housing, daily check-ins, and essential supplies, she regained her health and confidence.
