RETT SYNDROME : "IMAGINE THE SYMPTOMS OF AUTISM, CEREBRAL PALSY, PARKINSONS, EPILEPSY, AND ANXIETY ALL IN ONE LITTLE GIRL"
Reagan Hope Lively was diagnosed with rett syndrome at 2 years old. At age 12, Reagan still continues to fight this severe, life long neurological disorder. Reagan is a sweet, sassy little girl, when she smiles it lights up the room!
Because of a mutation on her X chromosome, Reagan is non mobile, non verbal, has seizures, a feeding tube, has lost all purposeful use of her hands, and has severe scoliosis.
Reagan is 74 pounds, has uncontrolled movements, rocks back and forth while her little hands pat against her chest and has breathing irregularities.
Reagan's parents, John and Suzanne, care for her around the clock for feeding, changing, bathing, dressing, lifting and carrying her room to room, as well as monitor her for seizures daily.
As Reagan is getting older, it has become more difficult for her parents to care for her. They are in great need of a ceiling track to transfer Reagan, while keeping her safe, a handicapped van to help travel to doctor appointments, and medical treatments not covered by insurance.
While there is no cure for rett syndrome, gene therapy is showing promising results in clinical trials. The family's hope is to give Reagan every opportunity . Please keep Reagan in your prayers! For more on Reagan's journey, go to reaganshope.com
