Support Ray's Journey to Recovery and Stability

Hello all,

This summer, all that I've known has been turned on its head.

A lot has changed since I've been in contact with my friends and family online. Most recently, I've been working on an Ed.S. in school psychology at USF in Tampa. I have a wonderful life partner, Ivan, and we raise his daughter Lily together.

In the beginning of July, I was slated to move to Oregon with my Ivan and Lily to begin my internship at one of the top school districts in the state, and also to settle down permanently there.

In mid-June, I had a reaction to a medication that led to me being hospitalized for 2 months. SSRI-induced psychosis -- dazed, spinning.

I've since returned from the hospital after being in 3 treatment facilities in FL and am now diagnosed and being treated for Bipolar I.

Now, I'm headed to Oregon to start a partial hospitalization program (PHP) there, spending 5-6 hours a day in treatment to return back to normal living. It will take 6 months to a year until I can start any kind of work again.

All of this has made me grateful -- for people, nature, the scents and sounds of the world. For animals, creating art/poetry, and listening to music. What is paramount during these times has been human connection. I'm reaching out to ask for monetary assistance in helping to pay for moving and living expenses. And if not that, then for this story to be shared amongst friends/family, and for anyone who would like to reconnect to reach out and say hi <3

Thank you.
