I am Ray’s younger sister and I am trying to raise money to assist our family and Ray’s wife, with funeral costs, bills and necessities for his family and children after his unexpected passing at the young age of 36. Ray’s body will need to be flown home, from Tennessee, for the funeral and burial.

Ray was the oldest and the leader of our pack of six siblings. He was the big brother and he always made sure his younger siblings were well taken care of and everyone else in his life. Ray lead his life with his heart and love at the forefront of everything he did. Ray left our childhood home at the age of 18 to serve in the US Army where he did two tours, in Afghanistan, and received a Purple Heart after taking a bullet for his country. Ray came home and started his family with wife Kaitlin and welcomed Ava Lynn Hughes in February of 2011. Ray thrived being a dad and his baby girl was the light of his life. As life continued on some doors closed but others opened as he continued through his journey and he met Jen who became his new wife. With Jen he acquired Hope and Roman whom he adored and was honored to call his children.

Ray enjoyed being with his family, watching football, the Eagles, gambling, his old mustang, riding dirt bikes, hanging with his brothers, going to the local gun range, being with his wife, attending Ava’s sporting events, and living life to the fullest.

Ray lost his life unexpectedly doing one of his favorite pass times, playing poker while in Tennessee for his daughter Hope’s baby shower.

Ray’s family greatly appreciates all the prayers and love that has surrounded them during this time. Although we understand times are hard for most, we please ask for donations to help bring Ray home to Pennsylvania, assist our family with funeral costs, and support his family in his absence. If the only thing that can be given is prayers, please send them in abundance. We don’t currently have a service date but all information will be shared when we do.
