Support for Raya and Her Family After Apartment Fire
As some of you may have heard, my younger sister Raya and her family were directly impacted by the devastating fire at the Napoleon and Clearview Apartments in Metairie, Louisiana, on August 5, 2025.
At the time of the fire, Raya was at work as a lash technician . Her 3-year-old daughter and her boyfriend had just stepped out to get food — a decision that likely saved their lives, as they would have otherwise been inside the apartment during the fire.
Tragically, their beloved family dog was still at home. We are incredibly grateful to the heroic firefighters who broke down the door and were able to rescue the dog in time. While we’re beyond thankful that everyone is safe, Raya and her family lost everything in the fire.
They are now in urgent need of temporary housing, basic essentials, and support. Adding to the stress, Raya’s daughter is set to start school in the coming days but has lost all her school clothes, shoes, and supplies.
We are reaching out to ask for any donations to help Raya and her family get back on their feet during this incredibly difficult time. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a difference and is deeply appreciated.
Thank you all for your kindness and support.
