Help Rayan and His Siblings Survive in Gaza

My name is Kayla, a 29 year old from Utah, USA, and I am creating this fundraiser for my friend Rayan Joda, a 17-year-old boy in Gaza who has endured horrors no human being should ever experience—let alone a child.

When Israel’s attacks on Gaza began, Rayan was just 14. Since then, he has lost everything:

• His home was reduced to rubble.

• His school was destroyed, leaving no chance for a normal education.

• His family was torn apart, and now he carries the impossible responsibility of caring for his 5 younger siblings in the midst of famine and displacement.

Here are Rayan’s own words:

“I am Rayan from Gaza. The war started when I was 14 years old. We were living in our house at the beginning of the war. When they ordered us to evacuate for the first time, we went to a dangerous area. It was bombed. Then we left to Rafah. We spent many months in Rafah. There were days when we died of hunger and did not eat. We slept on the ground. When they ordered us to evacuate from Rafah, we returned to our house and found it completely destroyed. My mother was very sad. Now we are displaced and suffering here from sleeping on the ground and hunger. Please help me.”

Today, Rayan and his siblings live in makeshift encampments. Food is nearly impossible to afford. To understand the desperation:

• A single bag of flour now costs 2,000 shekels in cash in Gaza. But because of the collapsing economy, people are forced to pay 3,650 shekels through apps after outrageous 45% commissions.

• This is an impossible sum for a teenager who has lost everything.

Rayan should be dreaming about his future. Instead, he’s fighting every day to keep his brothers and sisters alive.

This isn’t just about one boy—it’s about recognizing the humanity of Palestinians like Rayan who have been silenced, starved, and displaced by a genocide the world has failed to stop.
