Support Ray in His Battle with Testicular Cancer
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
Making the decision to create this GoFundMe wasn’t easy, but after giving it a lot of thought, I realized this is the best way to get the support my family and I need during this incredibly difficult time.
I’m 37 years old, engaged to the love of my life, and a proud father to my 19-year-old son. I work full-time, and I also perform as a musician on the side. Sadly, my diagnosis and treatment have put a stop to both my job and my music, adding a lot of financial stress to an already overwhelming situation.
In October, I started experiencing abdominal and lower back pain, which led me to the doctor. After a CT scan, I was told it might be lymphoma. But a biopsy later revealed it was actually a yolk sac tumor, which had spread from testicular cancer. The tumor is located in my lower abdomen, pressing on my lymph nodes. An ultrasound confirmed the diagnosis.
Thankfully, my PET scan and brain MRI showed no signs of the cancer spreading further. On November 19th, I had an orchiectomy (surgery to remove my testicle). Then, on December 6th, I had a port placed in preparation for chemotherapy. My first round of chemo started on December 16th, and I’m undergoing the BEP regimen, which is a tough treatment. I’m scheduled for 3–4 cycles over the next 9–12 weeks.
I’ve set a goal for this GoFundMe, but honestly, I’m not sure how much will be needed. Between the costs of chemotherapy, scans, medical procedures, and being unable to work—both my full-time job and my music—the financial strain has been hard. Any support, no matter how small, would mean the world to us and help relieve some of the pressure during this time.
Thank you for your kindness and support—it really gives me strength to keep fighting.
With gratitude,
Ray
