December 13, Ray Berger was admitted to the hospital with breathing difficulties due to COVID-19. Only 39 years old, doctors believed he would survive the the virus thanks to his age and overall fair health. However, he quickly went downhill, and after weeks on a ventilator, several days without any improvement, and severe permanent damage to his lungs, his wife Katie and the rest of his family have run out of options.

 

In addition to his college sweetheart Katie Jaymes Berger, Ray’s family includes three young children: Becca (almost 17), Abby (13), and Ethan (almost 7).

 

As Ray is the family’s primary source of income and health insurance, the family needs tremendous support over the coming months. They have a loving community around them praying for them and providing food and other assistance. But they will also need money to help with medical bills and day-to-day expenses.

 

I have known Katie since we were 7 years old. She has been through the toughest years of her life, losing her mother to rare cancer a few years ago and now facing losing her dear partner and best friend. Please help with whatever you can.
