Update: Raven's first month of treatment has been ordered and will arrive sometime this week!
My sweet kitty Raven has been diagnosed with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). FIP is a severe disease in cats caused by feline coronavirus. In a small number of cats, the virus mutates inside the cat, and interacts with the cat’s immune system in a certain way, which results in FIP. No one knows why some cats get it and some don't, but it's more common in younger cats. Raven is only 1 and a half. In the past, there was no effective treatment for FIP but thankfully times have changed and there are antiviral medications available with good results in treating FIP. Unfortunately, this medication is very costly so I'm asking for help from anyone who can, to help save my sweet, loved Raven.
