My father, Raul, has been bravely battling liver disease for years. Recently, we received the devastating news that a mass on his liver is cancer. His doctors at Chong Hua Hospital have recommended a TACE (Transarterial Chemoembolization) procedure, scheduled for October 13. The cost of a single session is estimated at $4,000–$6,000 USD, not including essential medications like Eltrombopag (Revolade), which costs over $220 USD per box.

Beyond the medical expenses, our family is carrying the heavy burden of constant hospital visits, accommodation, lost wages, and the everyday costs of life that don’t stop for cancer. Through it all, my mother, Zoraida, has been our unwavering pillar—tirelessly caring for my father, handles all the hospital visits and paperwork and putting her own fears and exhaustion aside to hold our family together. Her love and sacrifice can’t be put into words—she’s a devoted mother and wife, standing by the person she loves in sickness and in health.

As the only daughter, it breaks my heart to see my father in pain and suffering. He has always been my source of strength, and now, I want to be there for him.
