On December 17th the gentle giant of our family faced a major medical emergency. After being rushed to the hospital it was determined he was having a massive stroke on the right side of his brain. After surviving a very touch-and-go window which included having to undergo surgery to remove part of his skull- he is finally in a stable place. He is currently in the ICU while his brain and body are healing, but through all of this, he has kept his tenacity for life and continued fighting. His mom and dad have been by his side the entire time. As many of you know my aunt opened a daycare in 2022 and had to close early for the holidays to remain by Rashiid's side to not only take care of him but to advocate for him so he receives the best medical care. While he is in a much more stable place he will have a very long recovery journey ahead which includes inpatient rehabilitation and making sure their home is compatible with his needs when it is time for him to return home. Due to the suddenness and length of recovery time, our family is raising funds to alleviate any additional stress on Billie and Rashiid as they focus on his recovery.
