There’s no easy way to say this, but I’m at a point where I truly need help.
In 2017, my mother was diagnosed with early onset dementia at just 62. That same year, we lost my grandmother, her best friend, and after that loss, my mom’s condition rapidly declined. Over the years, she lost her memory and independence. By 2022, we had to place her in a nursing home for full-time care.
We did everything we could, but the emotional, mental, and financial toll has been overwhelming. My sister, who had been managing my mom’s finances, struggled and left critical bills unpaid. By the time I found out, we faced eviction. I’m not here to blame her we’re all dealing with this pain, but I’m now the one holding things together.
I’ve lived in this apartment my entire life. I’m in the process of taking over my mother’s affairs and fighting to keep her home, especially in case she needs it again. On top of this, I lost my job due to federal funding cuts. I’ve been actively applying for work, but I’m running out of time. Assistance programs can’t help without a job, but I’m determined to secure one soon.
I have until the end of May to pay the outstanding rent and prevent eviction. With your support, I can bridge this gap, keep my mother’s home, and turn this around.
Even a small contribution will help me bridge this gap and give us hope for stability. Thank you for reading, if you’re unable to donate, sharing this would mean the world.
