Rashad’s Journey to Recovery…

On June 18th, 2024 Rashad went in for a routine exam where Dr’s discovered that he had a tumor the size of a cantaloupe in his stomach that was attached to his kidney that they believe to be cancer. Surgeons and doctors had to act aggressively in order to remove the tumor, only giving Rashad and his family 2 weeks to prepare for an 8-hour long surgery and months of recovery in order to remove this cancerous mass. Rashad’s surgery took place July 3,2024 and was a success however during the operation they discovered that the mass was in fact bigger than initially shown in the scans and turned out to be about the size of a watermelon in which they not only had to remove his Kidney, but also his Adrenal Glands, Spleen, and majority of his Pancreas. The mass is currently being biopsied, and we will know the results sometime this week to officially confirm whether it is in fact cancer.

A tumor? Cancerous? 1 month after being newly married and just starting a new life with his wife and family? How? As you can imagine this was a blow to him and his family. However, despite these overwhelming challenges Rashad remains Optimistic and is still able to make light of the situation even though it is heavy. He is a very private person so doing something like this doesn’t come with ease, however he does play a pivotal role in his family and his road to recovery will be long.

At this time, we are asking for all prayers and donations in order to cover any medical, living, and accommodation expenses during recovery and to also provide peace of mind, allowing Mia to focus on caring for her husband and family without the burden of financial stress. UPDATE:

As of July 11, 2024 Rashad's medical team believe that he will remain hospitalized for an additional 2-3 weeks. Please continue to pray for his speedy recovery
