Support Raq's Recovery from Heart Surgery

Hi all,

I would like to invite you to join the lash community, family, and friends in supporting Raq as she recovers from a life-changing medical event that occurred on October 9th, 2024.

For weeks, Raq experienced headaches, shortness of breath, and chest pain all while continuing to work to support herself and her family. On October 8th, Raq began to experience excruciating chest pain, cold sweats, and intense headaches. The following day, Raq continued to work selflessly on her scheduled day off. While working, she continued to experience the after-effects of what we now know to be a mini heart attack. She was due to work a 14-hour day the following morning but opted to go to the emergency room for further treatment.

Upon arriving at the ER, the cardiologists found the cause of her symptoms to be a 99% blockage of one of her main arteries. She was rushed into emergency surgery the same night, where a stent was inserted into her heart.

Raq has maintained a special place in the Bay Area lash community for the last five years, constantly showing support for other fellow artists in every way possible. Her dedication to her clients and her artistry does not go unnoticed. Raq has played a vital role in supporting BDTL by traveling to multiple lash events, providing excellent customer service, and being the best company/friend.

Raq is now facing a daunting $127,000 medical bill without insurance. She has also lost a month of income while on medical rest, creating extreme financial hardship alongside this massive bill. Raq continues to restrict her client load due to this recent medical event, cutting her income in half.

Lash artists- Raq has given so much to this community. Every dollar donated will help her focus on getting healthy again so she can continue her career in the industry she loves so much.
