A dog was brought to us by a good samaritan. Upon arrival, the dog was matted, infested with fleas and ticks, suffering from open lacerations on his chest, and presenting with a front leg injury. Despite our efforts to locate an owner, nobody came forward to claim him. We named him Ranger. A representation of courage and resilience. We immediately started ranger on pain management and doxycycline, as he tested positive for lyme disease. Bandage changes. X-rays. A full shave. Ranger’s first week here was full of poking and prodding, and although he was terrified, he not once growled or tried to bite any staff member. We believe Ranger is suffering from a brachial plexus injury. This is a serious nerve trauma that causes paralysis of his front leg, usually caused by the force of pulling the leg away from the body. We believe that amputation will be the best route to take to help Ranger recover. We plan to neuter him as well. This week, we’ve seen a little bit more of Ranger. A tail wag. An excited wiggle when we bring him his breakfast. This very well may be the first time he’s experienced affection from humans, and we are so incredibly proud of him. This go fund me is set up to support Ranger’s care that he has already received, his surgery, and the care he will continue to get. Thank you friends of animals and All 4 Paws family! ❤️
