I have known Dave Smith for nearly forty years. We first met at Unity College here in Maine, which led to adventures from Maine to California, and working together in various settings.
We both chose to settle here on Mount Desert Island to pursue our careers and to raise families. I know many people in our community have also formed personal relationships with Dave as a member of the community.
Dave has always been an extremely hard worker and a kind and giving person, but now he needs support from his friends in the community.
I recently learned of the situation Dave has been in and now understand it has been evolving for five years. I have known Dave as one who grinds on in the face of challenges, and I was not surprised that he had been keeping this hidden from friends.
In checking in with Dave about his situation, it became clear it has been highly stressful and expensive. To help cover his personal hardship, help is needed.
This personal hardship is making him retire earlier than he had wanted and he would have loved to continue contributing in a place that needs the expertise that he has to offer.
Please support Dave if you can and spread word to his friends about his upcoming retirement.
Currently, Dave can only accept donations from friends and family. If you have a personal relationship with Dave, please send a quick note of how long you have known him, so that he can thank you for your kindness. And don’t forget to wish him well in retirement!!!
If you are friends with Dave and work, or do business where he works, there will be some additional questions to be asked before any donation can be accepted.
Thank you for your understanding.
Thank You For Helping Dave....!!!
