Support Randy's Family During His Recovery

Hello, my name is Randy and I am the sole provider for my family of four. Between my wife Trina & me, we have a blended family of seven kids. Four of our kids are grown and living on their own, Trina's sixteen-year-old currently lives with their dad, and our two youngest together, Tempyrence (age 6) and Payzleigh (age 4), are in our household (No, there is never a dull moment).
Unbeknownst to us, about a month before the dreaded pandemic hit, we started a General Contracting business which, as expected, has been a complete nail-biting roller coaster for us. But by the grace of God, it has provided my wife Trina with the ability to be home to raise our girls for the past four years, as well as help me with the computer end of things with the business, which has been a huge blessing that we are eternally grateful for.
On December 13th, I was working late at about 7 pm, replacing some rotted wood around and below some second-story windows. I had been on a rope and harness all day, and it had already been dark for a few hours at that point when I decided to call it a night. I got onto my articulating ladder that I had been up and down many times over the previous couple of days, and with it being dark, I even stood there and thought for a second about just leaving the harness hooked up to the rope while I climbed down, but decided to unhook and took about four steps down the ladder. It folded up right in half, with my feet still being eight feet off the ground, in the dark, with no time to react or see what was coming. My hip and legs fell onto the ladder, and my right elbow and head hit the concrete. I was in a bit of shock and realized I couldn't move my arm right and was bleeding pretty badly. I called my wife and tried to wrap my head around what had just happened and how bad it was. I called my son-in-law to help come get my tools out of the rain and decided not to wait for anyone and drove myself to Riverbend ER. after 7 hours of bleeding all over their chair and floor they took X-rays, stitched me up, and told me I had a closed fracture of the right elbow and needed to get into Slocum as soon as possible and needed surgery. Those next four days were excruciating as I had a little stub of bone hanging back behind my elbow because my tricep wouldn't relax without the rest of my arm connected to it.
I was able to get into Slocum on Wednesday, December 18th, and they confirmed everything, put in the order for surgery, and said I would be out of work for three to four months.
I had surgery at Riverbend on Friday morning, December 20th. I now have a steel plate and screws and was told I would definitely be out of work for three to four months. The doctor told me that due to my line of work, she wrapped the bone in steel so that I would only have to wear a splint for two weeks so I wouldn't lose mobility, but after two weeks, once the splint is off, I cannot lift more than an empty coffee cup for a few months.
As everyone knows, this past year has been tough on all of us, and our savings has been entirely depleted. Now we fear we are in danger of being evicted. Trina is actively looking for work while I'm starting an online business that I hope will help us supplement our income in the future.
I'm reaching out today not just for myself but for my family. The upcoming holidays are a difficult time to navigate, and even the smallest contribution can bring us hope and relief. If your in a position to help and have a few minutes to share and/or make a donation of $5-$10, it would make a world of difference to my family while I get things figured out. Your generosity will go directly towards our rent, electricity, insurances and cell phone bills while we put our lives back together.
We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has been apart of our journey so far . The love and support from our friends, family, and community have given us hope. Thank you for considering helping us get through this rough patch. With your support we can keep a roof over our heads and provide for our little ones.
If by some miracle we are able to raise more than what is absolutely needed, we would like to Pay It Forward to another family in similar circumstances.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading this far. Every single dollar helps, and we are grateful for it. Please share for us if you can.
