In January 2024, Randy was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), a serious bone marrow disorder. For a time, the disease was managed with medication, but now his bone marrow is failing. The only cure is a bone marrow transplant. Without it, the prognosis is very poor.

Randy and his wife Diana have traveled to the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona, where they have found excellent care. His doctors have determined that he needs to move forward with transplant as soon as possible. The process will require a hospital stay of 3–4 weeks, followed by several months living nearby to monitor for complications and adverse reactions. Randy will need to remain in Phoenix until at least February 7, 2026.

The greatest concern right now is the cost of housing during this long stay. Short-term housing near the clinic will cost between $7,000–$10,000, not including additional medical and pharmaceutical expenses.

This is not Randy’s first fight. More than twenty years ago, he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). By the grace of God, a bone marrow transplant at that time cured him. Today, he is facing this challenge again with strength and faith, but the financial burden is heavy.

Randy and Diana are currently living on Social Security Disability and retirement income. Covering months of out-of-state living expenses is overwhelming. We are reaching out to family, friends, and the community for help during this critical time.
