Randy Van has been a dedicated voice in central Iowa for decades, serving as a radio news director for KCOB and Energy 106.7 in Newton, and currently at KNIA/KRLS in Knoxville and Pella. I had the privilege of working alongside Randy for 16 years at the Newton stations, and I’ve seen firsthand how much he cares about his community. Whether he was reporting on local news, covering city council meetings, or bringing high school sports to life with his play-by-play, Randy has always gone above and beyond for his listeners.

Recently, Randy’s wife—who had faced ongoing health challenges—passed away suddenly. This loss has been devastating for Randy, and he is now facing the unexpected burden of funeral and memorial expenses. As someone who has given so much to our community, Randy now needs our help to get through this difficult time.
