Support Randy Powell's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
This is a fundraiser for medical expenses for Randy Powell, who was recently in a severe motorcycle accident in Southern Illinois. Randy Powell is a retired police officer and avid deer hunter and fisherman. Unfortunately, Bambi decides to take revenge on Randy.
On 06/03/24, Randy was returning home from a job interview. He was on Rt. 146 near Goareviile, Illinois. At this time, a large deer ran out in front of his motorcycle. Randy could not stop or avoid the deer, so he struck it at approximately 60 miles per hour. Randy was thrown from the bike and came to rest on the shoulder of the roadway. He was airlifted to the Carbondale Hospital.
Randy suffered severe road rash, broken ribs, and a punctured lung. He is expected to be in the hospital for at least a week, and his recovery will take months. Thankfully, he has survived a terrible accident, but his recovery will be physically and financially challenging.
For those of you who know Randy, he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it and do anything to help someone in need. You may know that Randy and his wife, Carrol, adopted his young niece and nephew a few years ago due to a tough family situation. Randy and Carrol are their sole means of support, and it is unknown when and if Randy can return to work.
We all know how stressful bad financial situations can be. We know medical treatment is expensive and that medical insurance does not cover deductibles and various services. Please help Randy and his family recover from this hardship by donating what you can. Thank you in advance, and God bless you for your kindness.
