Randy Neptune has been our dedicated truck driver at Alco Mfg. Corp. for over seven years, delivering machined parts between Michigan and Cleveland for plating and annealing, and bringing them back for shipping. As someone who works on the shipping dock, I’ve had the privilege of building a family-like bond with Randy over the years. He’s made a huge impact on our facilities and is well known throughout our two northeast Ohio plants for his hard work and kindness.

This morning, we received heartbreaking news: Randy has been diagnosed with cancer. He’s currently at Akron General Hospital, undergoing biopsies and testing to determine how aggressive the cancer is. What we know so far is that he was having prostate problems, and doctors discovered cancer on his liver and spine. The mass on his spine is especially concerning, as it could cause paralysis. Randy is waiting for biopsy results, which may take several days, and he’s facing an uncertain future.

Randy is around 65 years old and, unfortunately, not in a position to retire. He will be out of work for a while, if not permanently, and the financial burden of medical bills and monthly expenses is overwhelming. The funds raised will go directly toward helping Randy with rent, bills, and the mounting medical costs for treatment and surgery to remove the mass on his spine.
