Hi, my name is Randy Millis. I’m an independent journalist, advocate, and longtime Kelowna resident currently living in an emergency shelter while working to rebuild stable housing.

After losing my home, I began documenting my experience through Personal Dispatches, an ongoing documentary project chronicling homelessness, disability, accessibility, housing, and life in Kelowna from the perspective of someone living it every day.

Although I am currently homeless, my BC Supreme Court judicial review remains active and is still awaiting scheduling. The legal process continues, but my day-to-day reality has shifted from emergency court applications to rebuilding my life while continuing to document it.

I’m actively searching for permanent housing, including rental opportunities and an RV pad that would allow me to move out of the shelter.

Donations help me continue rebuilding my life and producing Personal Dispatches. They help cover expenses such as:

• securing stable housing

• storage and transportation

• food and daily necessities

• keeping my phone, computer, and internet operating

• website hosting, software, and reporting equipment for Personal Dispatches

• continuing to report, write, photograph, and advocate from lived experience
