Randy Smith hasn’t had it easy in recent years- or decades- but his spirits have remained high and his faith strong, and his love for (and from) his family has seen him through really difficult times. He’s most recently been diagnosed with pneumonia as well as bloodclots and spent the last week and a half in the ICU in a Salt Lake City hospital, over 250 miles from his home in Carlin, Nevada (near Elko). He’s been on a ventilator for several days now, to allow his lungs to rest and recover. His wife Brenda and daughter Randi Lynne have barely left his side. The rest of his family has made the four hour trek to and from Salt Lake to be with him as often as possible, as well. Of course, all of this is taking a massive emotional and financial toll on the family- lost income for both Brenda and Randi Lynne these last few weeks, gas and lodging and food costs, and so much more- and the medical bills will certainly start rolling in before long. We aren’t sure how long this hospital stay will last, and ask for any help you can give. Your prayers and positive thoughts, financial assistance and words of support are ALL most appreciated in this hard time.
