Randy Delara was the true definition of a family man. Since he was seven years old, he worked any job he could find, picking up trash, carrying groceries, helping people on the street, to support his family. When he moved to America, nothing changed except the size of his heart. He continued sending more than half of every paycheck back home because family was always his first priority. Randy built his entire life around his family. He changed his schedule whenever needed, showed up for everything, and supported every dream, no matter how big or impossible it sounded. To John, Dj, and Sarah, he was not just a father. He was their best friend, their number one supporter, and the person who taught them to follow their passion and trust God through every hardship. Randy lived his life with love, sacrifice, and faith. His biggest wish was for his kids to always chase what makes them happy, and he worked every day to give them that chance.

John is my best friend and my roommate. He already works two jobs just to cover school, rent, and everything he needs to stay afloat. His family is the same way, hardworking, busy, and doing everything they can day by day. With Randy’s passing, they were suddenly hit with something no one can ever prepare for. The funeral costs are more than the family can manage on their own. This is a heavy moment, and the family should be able to focus on grieving and honoring Randy, not worrying about how to cover such a large expense. This is where friends and community come in.
