Help a Desert Storm Veteran Fight Aggressive Leukemia
My name is Ashley, and I’m raising funds for my father in law, Randy Barnes, a proud and decorated veteran of the U.S. military. He served with honor during Operation Desert Storm, where he earned the Bronze Star for his bravery and leadership. During that time, he was exposed to burning oil fields—exposure that doctors now believe may have caused his current diagnosis: an aggressive, fast-spreading form of leukemia.
After serving 14 years and sacrificing for our country, my father in law recently retired from a long career of 29 years at Westrock. He now lives on a limited, fixed income, and just as he hoped to enjoy time with family, he received this devastating diagnosis.
Tomorrow, he begins intensive treatment that will require him to be hospitalized for at least five weeks. He will be far from home, undergoing round-the-clock care, and facing the fight of his life.
The emotional and physical challenges are already immense—but the financial burden is growing just as quickly. While insurance covers part of the cost, it does not come close to covering everything. Our family is facing overwhelming expenses for:
• Hospital care and procedures
• Travel to and from the hospital
• Medications not covered by insurance
• Living expenses during his stay
• Post-treatment recovery costs
We are doing all we can as a family—but we need help.
Any amount, no matter how small, will go directly toward helping my father in law get the treatment he needs and easing the financial pressure on him during this critical time. If you are not in a position to give, we deeply appreciate you sharing this campaign with others.
Please help us rally around a man who spent his life standing up for others.
Thank you for your compassion, generosity, and prayers.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Barnes family
