Randi Sandborg and her children have been on our hearts, and we are sending our thoughts and prayers their way. This holiday season, Randi was overjoyed to have both Paul and John together, but their joy was quickly overshadowed when John became seriously ill with RSV. Randi did everything she could to care for his symptoms, but late one night, I received a call from her. Despite her worry, she showed incredible composure. When we connected over Facetime, it was clear that John’s condition was severe—he was coughing, gagging, and wheezing, and his breathing was labored. With no ambulances available, Randi was told to drive John herself to Children’s Hospital in Louisiana. After making arrangements for Paul to stay with his grandparents and dad, Randi drove John to the hospital, and I stayed on the phone with her until they arrived. The medical team had a difficult time getting an IV started because of how sick John was.
Randi is exhausted, and Paul misses his mom. John’s immune system is still weak, and he seems to catch every illness that’s going around. I want to help Randi stay home with John during this flu season so he has the best chance to recover. That’s why I am starting this GoFundMe—to help cover rent, utilities, car payments, insurance, gas, and other essentials so Randi can focus on caring for her children without the added stress of financial worries.
I believe God will meet her needs one way or another, and your prayers are greatly appreciated. If you feel moved to help, any support—whether through donations or sharing this fundraiser—will make a meaningful difference for Randi, Paul, and John. Thank you for keeping them in your thoughts and prayers.
