Help fund Ramsey Vang's life-saving treatment

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ben, the older brother of Ramsey. On November 1st, Ramsey sustained multiple knife injuries to his upper body while protecting our aunt from her husband in our home.

About two months ago, our uncle, his wife, and their two children immigrated from Laos to America thanks to our mother's sponsorship. We welcomed them to live with us until they were on their feet. However, the two reignited past marital problems erupting into the domestic abuse incident.

In the afternoon of that day, our uncle suddenly attacked and stabbed his wife with a knife while she was asleep in the living room. Ramsey burst out of his room after hearing the screams of our aunt and, with total disregard for his own safety, shoved our uncle off of her and fought with him. Ramsey bravely kept him away from both our aunt and mother until I was able to get upstairs and neutralized him with lethal force.

Both our aunt and uncle passed away later that day. Fast-forwarding two weeks, Ramsey is still fighting for his life as he's developed acute respiratory distress syndrome and may require ECMO treatment. He has been sedated for nearly the entire time and unable to see how many people have come to support him.

Ramsey, the most stern out of the three of us brothers, is exceptionally dependable. His value of being independent and selfless led to him joining the National Guard and pursuing a computer science degree.

Though he doesn’t like admitting it, Ramsey cherishes his friends and family and helps them whenever and wherever he can. At only 21 years old, he still has a long life ahead of him and many more people to help and influence.

I’ve created this fund in hopes that when Ramsey recovers, he can relax and focus on healing and rehabilitation instead of the mountain of medical bills that are sure to come - he’s always been very frugal. Since we cannot help Ramsey heal faster, all our family can do is ask our friends, family, and the community to donate to support Ramsey.

Our uncle and aunt's two children were thankfully away at school on the day of the incident and are safe. There is a separate Gofundme for them: https://gofund.me/2fa97e7e
