Hello friends, family, and kind strangers, I am reaching out to you today on behalf of my incredible mom, Ramona. Mami, as I prefer to call her, is truly the most generous, selfless person I have ever known. Throughout her life, she has always been the first to show up for others, and she currently serves as the primary caregiver for her brother. Giving so much of herself to everyone else has taken a severe toll on her body. Over the past year, she has had to endure two surgeries—one on her knee and one on her shoulder. Before her shoulder could even fully recover, she began experiencing debilitating chronic pain. We recently learned that her L4 and L5 lumbar discs are severely compromised. This intense back pain has created a painful domino effect, making it impossible for her to continue the physical therapy she desperately needs for her shoulder and knee. The situation has now become critical. This coming Friday, she is undergoing major surgery on her backbone to address this spinal damage.

Why we need your help: Because of these compounding health issues, my mom has been unable to work for over six months. Recently, her salary and benefits were cut, leaving our family facing financial strain on top of an already overwhelming medical crisis. My mom has spent her whole life taking care of others. It breaks my heart to see her in this position, and it is my turn to step up for her.
