Support for Ramon and Maria
Ramon Avilez-Frias and Maria Del Pilar Moreno-Loredo are two longtime employees of Cisco’s, Austin’s oldest Tex-Mex restaurant, and beloved members of the restaurant community. On Monday, September 7, at 6 a.m., Ramon and Maria were detained by ICE as they arrived for work.
This fundraiser is for Ramon, Maria, and their families as they face an incredibly painful and uncertain time. They are hardworking, tax-paying people with no criminal records who have shown up every day for their jobs, their loved ones, and their community. Most importantly, they are parents and spouses whose families are now facing fear, instability, and sudden hardship.
The funds raised will help their families work with immigration attorneys and cover essential day-to-day expenses while Ramon and Maria remain in ICE custody. This support can help ease some of the immediate financial pressure and give their families a better chance to navigate the legal process ahead. We are asking the community to come together for Ramon and Maria, to stand beside two innocent, hardworking people and the families who depend on them. If you are able, please donate and share this fundraiser to help support Ramon, Maria, and their loved ones during this difficult time.
