Hi all, my name is Rolands and I am a dad of 2 years old boy Ralfs.

On 8th April Ralfs was sent to the Crumlin Children's hospital with unknown lump on his head, two lumps behind the right ear and swollen testicle. Ralfs had a biopsy on 10th April and I received his diagnosis - Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. No parent should receive a message like that. A big turn in our daily routine.

Ralfs has had a Hickman line in his chest since his diagnosis through which the chemotherapy is administered and weekly bloods tested. He have a chemotherapy once a week and two appointments a week in the local hospital.

The aim of this page is to help with the extra costs we are facing during the weeks and months ahead - transport to and from Crumlin hospital, parking charges, tolls and the day to day expenses.

I have been on leave from work, which mean a loss of any income, in order to take care of Ralfs. I am a cancer survivor myself for three years now and I know very well how financial struggle affect close family. I will not be able to work and my finances are extremely limited, while I have applied for some carers support it can take up to 4 months. One of our biggest supporters are my partner Kristine and her family who does everything to make my and Ralfs everyday life as good as possible in this hard time.
