Help Stop the Suffering — One Clinic, One Dog at a Time

Hi everyone,
My name is Rae, and I’m visiting from England to volunteer with an incredible small organization called Raise the Woof Nola, based here at Lake Atitlán, Guatemala.

In just a short time here, I’ve witnessed things that have broken my heart and inspired me at the same time. A few days ago, we found a tiny puppy trying to cross a busy road — weak, covered in mange, full of worms, and barely alive. He likely wouldn’t have survived another couple of days.

Julie, the founder of Raise the Woof Nola, immediately scooped him up and started treatment. Watching her work — day and night, with so little and yet giving so much — made me realize how desperately this community needs help.

There are so many street dogs here, most of them born into suffering. But Julie is working to change that story — not just by rescuing dogs in crisis, but by stopping the cycle of suffering through sterilization clinics in the nearby villages of Tzununa and Jaibalito.

Each clinic costs around $2,000 USD (about €1,850) to run and allows dozens of dogs to be sterilized, preventing hundreds of unwanted puppies from being born into hardship.
Each individual sterilization costs around 300 quetzales (about $38 USD) — such a small amount for such a big impact.

Your donation can help:
$38 — Sterilizes one dog and prevents countless unwanted litters
$100 — Provides food and medication for recovering animals
$500 — Sponsors a day of veterinary care for an entire village

I’ve seen firsthand how much this work means — not only to the animals but also to the local Mayan communities who care deeply and are grateful for this help.

We’ve created
this fundraiser to help Raise the Woof Nola fund their next sterilization clinic, with a goal of $2,000 USD.

Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference for these dogs and for this community.
Please consider donating — and sharing this campaign — to help us bring compassion, health, and hope to the dogs of Lake Atitlán.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
— Rae ❤️
