Raina, my sister, recently experienced a sudden onset of severe stomach pain that led to an emergency appendectomy. The surgery forced her to miss two weeks of work, which was already a challenge for her and her family. At her follow-up appointment, she received devastating news: her appendix contained cancer cells. The diagnosis was goblet cell adenocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. After meeting with a cancer specialist, Raina was told she would need a major surgery called a right hemicolectomy in just a few days. This procedure will remove a portion of her colon to ensure the cancer is fully treated and to give her the best chance at recovery. We are hopeful she won’t have to do chemotherapy. The surgery is significant, and she will be out of work for at least four weeks as she heals and regains her strength. During this time, the financial strain of medical bills and daily living expenses will be overwhelming. Any donations will help Raina take care of her family and manage the mounting medical costs until she is able to get back on her feet. If you could please help at all it would be very much appreciated. Your support will make a world of difference for Raina and her loved ones as they navigate this difficult journey.
