Support Rahshaun Burkes Family
Donation protected
On Friday, July 10th, Rahshaun was at work when he began to have extreme chest and back pain. An ambulance was called and he was rushed into the hospital. Upon arrival, his blood pressure was over 200. He was sent in immediately for a CT scan where they found he had an aortic dissection (a tear in his aorta- the major artery running through your whole body). They had to perform an 8 hour emergency surgery. At that time the surgeon said that he only had a 20% chance of surviving. Time was of the essence. Thankfully, the surgery went well and he made it out. He is now recovering in the ICU but he is not out of the woods yet. He has another surgery (femoral to femoral bypass surgery) scheduled for today (July 12th). We decided to set up this Gofundme to help the Burkes family in their time of need. Rahshaun has a long road ahead of him. Danielle has been going back and forth from Brockton to Boston to check on him and also check on the kids. With the uncertainty of how things are going to go moving forward they need your help. Rahshaun will not be able to go back to work anytime soon. With 3 kids, this is a huge burden on them. Any donation is greatly appreciated. Nothing is too small. At the very least please just share this and say a prayer. That will go a lot farther than you can imagine. Rahshaun is a great family man and he has devoted so much time in the Brockton community. As the President of the Brockton Raiders he has been devoted to helping kids get off the streets and getting them on the football field. His first words to me when he woke up out of sedation was "don't let anyone f#ck up my team!" lol. Anyone that knows Rahshaun, they know how devoted he is to his family, the Raiders family and the whole organization. He's a great friend and is truly like a brother to me. If you have the pleasure of knowing him, you know he wears his emotions on his sleeves, has a huge heart and will do anything for you to help when in need. Anytime you need him, you know he'll be there for you...although he might be late but he will be there LOL! In all seriousness, this is going to change him for the rest of his life. Once he has recovered and is strong enough to go home, he will then have countless doctor visits, medical bills, prescriptions and many more challenges in his future. Please help take some of the financial burden that is going to impact him, Danielle and the kids, anyway you can. I know Rahshaun and Danielle would never ask for anything from anybody which is why I am taking it upon myself to ask for them in their time of need. Thank you all.
