Hello everyone,
My name is Lydi Vele. My 2-year-old daughter Rah-Miyah, who is the youngest of 5 kids, was recently diagnosed with Medulloblastoma on 6/12/2025. She flipped off the swing on 6/2/2025 (her oldest brother's 13th birthday!), so I rushed her to the E.R. After she received a CT scan, the doctor said she either had a significant brain bleed or a tumor in the back of her head. We were taken via ambulance to Milwaukee Children's Hospital. After multiple tests were run, on 6/5/2025 she had to undergo emergency surgery to have a drain placed in her brain because the tumor was blocking the spinal fluid from draining, and the pressure was at a critical point. On 6/9/2025 (her brother Jeffrey’s 7th birthday), she had to undergo brain surgery to remove the tumor. Most of the tumor was able to be removed, but a small portion had to be left behind. After the tumor biopsy confirmed she did in fact have cancer, it was the most TERRIFYING NEWS we have ever received. Rah-Miyah had a lumbar tap done on 6/17/2025, and we were made aware a few days after that the tumor is metastatic and she has concerning cells in her spinal fluid. We were able to be released from the hospital on 6/20/2025 but had to be back on 7/1/2025 so Rah-Miyah could have a port placed in her chest and a reservoir in her head. Moving forward, we will need to be in Milwaukee weekly for the first “block” of chemotherapy that she will receive. Now, AS IF my baby girl having cancer isn’t bad enough, on our drive home from Milwaukee our vehicle started backfiring and shutting off. Now I will need to have my O2 sensors replaced before our weekly trips to Milwaukee start on 7/8/2025. Although we have done multiple fundraisers already, we still cannot get ahead. So this GoFundMe is to help offset any and all expenses during these next 6-9 months while our baby girl undergoes these cancer treatments.
these funds will be used to help support travel back & forth for appointments, as well as daily living necessities!
