My name is Houry Eskibachian, I am reaching out today on behalf of my dear childhood friend, Raffi Jamijian. Raffi has always been a beacon of kindness, loved by everyone for his sense of humor and his empathy toward others. But for the past eight years, he has been enduring immense suffering due to kidney failure. Raffi was born with only one problematic kidney, and over time, the pressure on his remaining functional kidney has caused it to fail completely. He has been on dialysis three times a week in Lebanon and has been on the transplant waiting list for years, but no viable donor has been found. His health is deteriorating rapidly. He now needs blood transfusions twice a month and has already undergone open heart valve surgery. I can no longer stand by and watch my friend suffer. Raffi urgently needs a kidney transplant, but the cost of this operation is far beyond what his family and a few of us can gather. He is the sole caretaker of his 13-year-old son, who has to watch his father struggle every day, fearing what the future might hold. It is heartbreaking to imagine what it must be like for his son to witness this suffering, knowing his father’s life hangs in the balance. We are humbly asking for your help. The cost of a transplant is substantial, but with your generosity, we can give Raffi the chance he deserves—to watch his son grow and to live without the constant pain and fear that has overtaken his life.
