Hello everyone,
My name is Maggie Marin, and I’m Rafa’s wife.
Last Friday, April 3rd at 3 a.m., I rushed my husband to the ER in Santa Rosa with our two young children after he complained of a severe headache and began slurring his words. Within hours, doctors told me that Rafa had suffered a stroke and had an active brain aneurysm. Shortly after, he was transferred to Kaiser in Redwood City to receive specialized neurological care.
As of today, April 7th, Rafa remains in the ICU, where he is being closely monitored due to the risk of a secondary aneurysm.
This has been an incredibly difficult and overwhelming time for our family. We don’t have family nearby, but we are so grateful for the friends who have stepped in to help care for our children while I stay by Rafa’s side.
Rafa is only 36 years old, a hardworking truck driver, and the sole provider for our family. With his condition, he will be unable to work for the next 3–6 months. While we are beyond thankful that he is alive, his recovery brings a significant and unexpected financial burden.
Rafa is a loving and devoted father who has always taken care of us. Now, we are facing the challenge of covering rent, bills, food, and medical expenses during his recovery.
If you are able to donate, any amount—big or small—will make a meaningful difference for our family. If you’re not in a position to give, sharing this message with others would mean just as much to us.
Your support, prayers, and kindness truly mean everything during this time. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. ❤️
