Hi, my name is Rafael, also known as Dutch. Here’s my story. Leading up to September 22, 2025, I was having migraines and little headaches starting from April every month. It got worse, but I kept fighting through it, not thinking it was anything too serious. I was still doing my normal routine: going to work, coming home, cooking for the family, and making sure the wife got up to go to work. But on the night of September 22, before my wife went to work, she saw that I was in so much pain in my head. She yelled at me and told me she was calling the ambulance. They came, and I went to the hospital, told them I had headaches and how long it’s been going on. Next thing I know, I’m being transferred to another hospital, not really understanding anything of what the doctors have told me about what’s going on with me because I was out of it and didn’t know what was really going on. I had to have an emergency craniotomy, which is a brain surgery, because I had a rather large mass in my brain that was causing all my symptoms on my frontal lobe. They also told me I have a smaller tumor on the right side temple, and that it came from my lung. So, I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic cancer, and I’m only 41 years old with 7 beautiful kids. I’ve already started radiation. I had my first radiation yesterday on the brain, and on the 30th, I will get a PET scan so my lung doctor can figure out what we’re going to do, but it’s looking like I’ll be doing chemo, and I’m really scared of that because I see what it does to some people. And I’m in the Fight Of My Life!! Thank you in advance… Anything will help me and my family. I’m scared!!!!
