Hello, my name is Inés Doti and I’m a friend of Rafael Calvo and Alex Iturregui.

People may know “Rafa” as the talented and hardworking carpentry artist he is.

Others know him through his beloved wife, Alejandra.

Everyone knows him as the devoted dad and loving grandfather who you can find walking by the beach with at least one grandkid riding on his back or cooking for them an Argentinean BBQ.

Rafa, the man of few words and big smile, the carpenter who works even on Sundays when he needs to create a new project or finish one, needs us now.

On July 28th, after personally delivering one of his pieces to a new client, Rafael had a cardiac event that sent him to the hospital.

He ended up having open-heart surgery with 3 bypasses at the JFK Hospital under the illuminated hands of Dr. Cristiano Faber.

Because he’s such a healthy person with an impeccable lifestyle, this gentle giant is recovering well, but it will take a while for him to get back to work and on his feet.

That’s why I’m starting this GoFundMe account so we can all help him and Alejandra.

The medical bills will be monstrous and they will need to cover all the basic needs for a while.

Hola, me llamo Inés Doti y soy amiga de Rafael Calvo y Alex Iturregui.

Muchos conocen a "Rafa" como el talentoso y trabajador carpintero.

Otros lo conocen por su querida esposa, Alejandra.

Todos lo conocen como el padre devoto y abuelo cariñoso que se puede encontrar paseando por la playa con al menos un nieto a cuestas o preparándoles un asado argentino.

Rafa, el hombre de pocas palabras y gran sonrisa, el carpintero que trabaja incluso los domingos cuando necesita crear un nuevo proyecto o terminarlo, nos necesita ahora.

El 28 de julio, tras entregar personalmente una de sus piezas a un nuevo cliente, Rafael sufrió un infarto que lo envió al hospital.

Terminó siendo sometido a una cirugía a corazón abierto con tres bypasses en el Hospital JFK bajo la supervisión del Dr. Cristiano Faber. Gracias a su salud y a su impecable estilo de vida, este gigante se está recuperando bien, pero le llevará un tiempo volver al trabajo y recuperarse.

Por eso estoy creando esta cuenta de GoFundMe para que todos podamos ayudarlos a él y a Alejandra.

Las facturas médicas serán enormes y tendrán que cubrir todas sus necesidades básicas por un tiempo.
